About Me

Me and My Family

Welcome to my blog  life! I would say, "Welcome to my blog," but just about everything in my blog is my life. Lord knows, I'm not perfect, but I'm a work in progress.

I'm just a simple stay-at-home mother with two adorable children and a wonderful husband from the good ol' South.  I never really knew what life was until I had a family of my own.  God surely has blessed me.  I consider myself a conservative with good morals and values.

There are 5 things that are important in the Mason household:
God
Family/Friends
Good Cooking
Good Manners
and
"ROLL TIDE"

You will see a little bit of everything in my post from: crafts, recipes, political updates (from time to time), photos of the latest events, current affairs, photos of my family and the things we do, I have been known to get a little carried away with a daily devotion or if the Lord just gets ahold of me and of course ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE FOOTBALL!

I love to review books (children & some adults) and movies. My favorite movies are the old black and white. Audrey Hepburn and Katherine Hepburn are probably the greatest actresses I've ever known with some class. I adore southern movies like: Gone with the Wind, Sweet Home Alabama, Fried Green Tomatoes, The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood, Forest Gump and Steel Magnolias.  I'm sure there are many more, but I honestly can't think of them right off the bat.

If I had one wish, it's to travel all over Greece and Italy.  I've never been there, but I'm so attracted to it.  They're culture, food, family and of course beautiful landscape.  I don't ever expect to go, so I'll eat the American version of the food, practice my Ciao, I have my Italy calendar that I get to look at every day, and I have the web at my fingertips to view the photos.

I have an interest in Photography, Art, and Computers.  In college, I took a photography class and never thought much of continuing down that path once I passed.  As you can tell in a lot of my photos that I take, I don't do studio shots.  I guess you could say, I like freelance and catch life at it's fullest.  I'm as tickled as a school kid with a bag full of candy when I get that perfect picture, mostly of my own children.

I love tasteful art (sculpture, oil painting or sketching).  I guess my favorite would be a Monet (landscape).  I would love to take painting classes because I really like bright and bold art, but not too modern.  I

've always had an interest in computers.  I mean, I've been working with computers as far back as the dot matrix, if you can imagine.  I've taken computer classes not only in high school, but continued on into college.  It was only me becoming a stay-at-home mom where I was introduced to the web and not long, Blogger.  It's amazing no matter how much experience you may have under your belt, there's always something new to learn.  I'm eager enough to learn it!

One of my favorite quotes comes from Charles Swindoll - "Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it."  This is so true and I try to remember this quote when I feel a crisis is coming.

One of my favorite bible verses comes from 2 Samuel 22:3 (NIV) - "My God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation.  He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior - from violent men you save me."   I know by faith, evil can not touch me unless God allows it to happen for a reason.  A reason beyond human explanation.  Even if evil hurts my humanly body, God will hold me and comfort me (my soul).  Amen!

Check in with me every now and then. Please leave me a comment, I love reading them.

Thank you and have a blessed day!
