Is It Hot Enough?
Doug and I are currently Jimmy Fallon fans. His sense of humor is so funny to us. This past week, he has been broadcasting from Orlando, Florida. If you don't know, summer arrived early for us Southerners. It's been in the upper 80s and 90s for the past few weeks with a humidity of 100%. Yeah, it's HAWT! I thought as a tribute to the Southern Humid Summers, I'd post a few funnies. 'Cause all you can do is laugh about it. So, go sit in the pool, with your fruity icy in one hand and enjoy the funnies.
Stay cool y'all!

Psalm 52
We are doing a study on Wednesday nights in the book of Psalm. I love the book of Psalm and admire the person that wrote it, King David. Yes, he made mistakes in his life and I think that is why I admire him. I am so blessed to have Bro. Steve to teach and enlighten certain areas of the Bible. I took lots of notes from this teaching and can't wait to share with you.
I wanted to bring this lesson to you because I felt that someone could go away feeling a sense of hope and satisfaction.
To set the scene, King Saul was very jealous of David and wanted him destroyed because he felt a threat of his kingdom being taken from him. Ahimelech was the chief high priest to King Saul. David came into Ahimelech's presence. Ahimelech became very nervous because of King Saul and his dislike for David. Ahimelech just wanted David to go away because he didn't want Saul to be upset with him. David asked for food, but they didn't have any except for the bread that was offered to God. By law this was a big no, no in the time. David and his men were hungry, so they took the bread. Then, David asked for weapons. Ahimelech showed David the only weapon that they had in their possession was the sword of Goliath. David took it. While all of this was going down, no one noticed Doeg an Edomite watching. Bro. Steve said that in the time Edomites and Israelites didn't get along at all. Doeg wanted to be in the king's good grace, so he went to King Saul and told him what conspired and added a little information that wasn't true. Doeg didn't stop at pointing the finger at Ahimelech helping David, but also told Saul that all of the leaders were involved. This absolutely wasn't true. Does this sound familiar? Do you know of one person, group, or empire that go out of their way to cause trouble or wickedness? With the blessing of the king, Doeg went to Ahimelech and not only killed him, but all the leaders and their families and livestock. When the news got back to David, how do you think he felt? If you said angry or mad. You are right. He became enraged with what just happened and it caused him to write Psalm 52.
Is it okay to be angry if something awful happened to you or someone else that you love? According to God's word, yes. "Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, and do not give the devil an opportunity" Ephesians 4:26-27. It's okay to be angry, but don't hold grudges. Anger should be balanced by God's justice. So what does this mean? I'll come back to this later.
Worse yet, Doeg boasted about the slaughtering of innocent people. "Why do you boast in evil, O mighty man? The lovingkindness (faithfulness) of God endures all day long" Psalm 52:1. "Your tongue devises destruction, like a sharp razor, O worker of deceit. (2) You love evil more than good, falsehood more than speaking what is right. Selah (means take a moment and think about it) (3). You love all words that devour, O deceitful tongue (4).
What do we do? Do we sit back and do nothing or do we do something about it? Our human nature wants to do something about it. Doesn't it? Why should he (Doeg) get away with this? Murder! It isn't fair for the righteous to have to walk the straight and narrow road, while the unrighteous does whatever they want. Naturally, we want to avenge those that have been done wrong. Whether it was you personally or someone else that you know. What does God say? He says for us to be patient. "But God will break you down forever; He will snatch you up, and tear you away from your tent, and uproot you from the land of the living. Selah (5). And the righteous will see and fear, and will laugh at him, saying, (6) 'Behold the man who would not make God his refuge, but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and was strong in his evil desire.'" (7). It would be so hard to sit back and wait on God's justice to be delivered to the unrighteous. David trusts God's lovingkindness forever and so should you. Don't take matters into your own hands because your reaction to your anger will swallow you up and you will NEVER be satisfied and at what cost to you. You could loose so much more than what you had before you became angered at a situation that happened to you. "Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, 'VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY,' says the Lord." Romans 12:19. "Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him;" Psalm 37:7a.
What can you do then, if you are not to avenge the wrong doing? God says, be thankful. Remain focused in the Lord's lovingkindness. "But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in the house of God; I trust in the lovingkindness of God forever and ever. (8) I will give Thee thanks forever, because Thou hast done it, and I will wait on Thy name, for it is good, in the presence of Thy godly ones. (9)" "Wait for the Lord, and keep His way, and He will exalt you . . . when the wicked are cut off, you will see it." Psalm 37:34. ". . . thanks be to God, who give us the victory through our Lord . . ." 1 Corinthians 15:57. In 2 Timothy 4:14 Paul wrote "Alexander the coppersmith did me much evil: the Lord reward him according to his works:" Don't you know Alexander had countless days to his demise.
Bro. Steve added in conclusion, "In fact, in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."
I hope this message brings to you a sense of understanding of God's word and what you need to do. A sense of hope and strengthening of your faith in Him. Sometimes, we put our faith and trust in other things and people and not necessarily in God. Instead, put your loving faithfulness and patience in God and his vengeance or justice will be met.

Happy Father's Day!
I want to wish all of our dad's a very Happy Father's Day! We are blessed to have a few great dads in our family. They are awesome!!
I'm posting this picture for my sister, Sandy. Dad loved his weather station. He said that Doug will have to come over to his place and install it. LOL! It's a good thing these older folks have younger kids to keep them up-to-date in the tech world. (tehe!) I told Doug a while back that we will be the same way with our kids.
I don't know what the deal is with Doug and his face. Other than that this is a good picture with him and his dad.

I loved Chase's shirt. It says "Real Men Make Twins." I love it!

Giant Hogweed Beware
I also wanted to add this tidbit before I ended my blog today. I've never heard of Giant Hogweed before until I saw a news report from the state of Michigan, calling for concern. I've included the actual Facebook News report post link, if you would like to know more. Post by Ken Spiegel. I've done a little research and this plant is not known to live in our region, but you never know. Reports say it is very toxic. If you brush up against it, mixed with sunlight and water (sweat) can cause blisters and later scares. The plant's damage can be as severe as blindness. I encourage you to watch the linked video in order to see the actual plant and know it you own this tropical looking toxic weed.
My children are so blessed to have such a great dad. He is an awesome Godlike leader in our family. He loves his babies and loves being a part of their lives. Dad encourages his children and supports them in every way possible. That is what it is all about - Love for your children.
The picture on the right is very special because my niece and her husband sprung some exciting and happy news to most of our family. They are expecting their third child. It is such a surprise for everyone because they said it wasn't planned. "God had other ideas" said Whitney. I thought it was sweet on how they presented the news to her dad. Her oldest, Zayden, which will be 3 years old this September, gave his Papa Kevin two Hershey's candy bars. Each wrapper was highlighted in either blue or pink. One highlighted bar spelt out the word "He" and the other was "She". Such a cute idea. We are just so happy for them and WOW, I will be praying for them. I'm sure she would appreciate the prayer warriors to remember her and the baby from now until it's arrival. The baby's due date will be in March 2015.
I took this picture for our Father's Day cards to Doug, and the kids' grandfathers. Doing this was harder than it looks. Keep in mind that I drew the background on our driveway and it wasn't on a hill. I got the idea from Pinterest. It's suppose to look like the kids are standing on the grass. Well, I had a hard time getting Colton to cooperate. Plus, I had to move my truck in the driveway just right, so I can stand in the back with my camera, get the kids to act silly and get that perfect picture. The guys loved their special Father's Day pictures, so I think it turned out great. On the inside of the cards, I wrote poems that reflected the person's relationship with their grandchildren. I hope I got it right. My dad said that I was just trying to get him to tear up. Katie wrote a special poem inside her dad's card. He loved it.

Happy 19th Anniversary!
Yesterday, Doug and I celebrated our 19th anniversary
I'll never forget him driving up in my driveway with his sharp white 1993 Pontiac Grand AM, step out of his car with his Tommy Hilfiger button up shirt, jeans and cowboy boots and wearing his Oakley sunglasses. My sister, June, had a fit. "Mirya, this guy is hot!" Haha!! Later, the rest of the family met him and just fell in love with my Dougie. He is a precious gem. I think to this day, my mother loves him more than I. LOL!!
Like all couples, we've had to really work at our marriage. Lots of ups and downs. I thank God that we've had more ups than downs. It's amazing how the devil try his best to get you to work against each other. I love how our pastor explained it. If couples stay mad and fight all the time and try not to work things out, it is you working against yourself because at the time of your marriage you went from two to one. God is the adhesive between a married couple. I am happy to say today that I believe our marriage is stronger now than it was 19 years ago. We've been through so much and by the grace of God, we've survived the situations strong and happy. Honestly, I don't want to imagine my life without Doug. He knows me, everything about me. He is my best friend, we share everything together, no secrets. He is a wonderful Godlike man and leader of our family. He is an awesome daddy. You know, anyone man can be a father. Being a daddy is something very special. We have two lucky little kids to have such a wonderful dad like Doug. We love him so much!! Happy anniversary babe! I pray, if it is God's will that we have many many more blessed years, filled with joy and happiness.
I have to tell you this story. I really don't know when or where Colton was introduced to WWE Wrestling. I know several years ago, Doug and I use to watch it when "The Rock" Dwayne Johnson, Big Show, Triple H, China, and Ed McMann was the owner. This was probably around the mid 90s. Doug and I loved watching it and laughing our heads off, this is just our crazy humor. Well apparently these genes travelled down to our little Colt. He LOVES WWE Wrestling. His favorite wrestler is John Cena. He has been working on his stretchy wrestler collection. This past Monday, he was able to get his wrestling platform because he helped clean up our yard and our neighbor's.
To describe the above picture. The guys (Doug & Colton) just got through watching wrestling and John Cena was the last to wrestle. Colt was so excited that he ran from the Living Room to my bedroom to give me all the details. After the show was over, it was bed time. The kids were so hyped up (mostly on sugar & caffeine) after watching John Cena win the match. I told Colton to put his PJs on and get ready for bed. He put on his winter PJ pants, no shirt and asked me to give him his cap. Ok. I asked him why. He tells me because this is the way John Cena looks. "John Cena wears a cap and pants." He explains. Next thing I know, he and Katie are wrestling in his bed. LOL!! This was hilarious to watch. They did the count and everything. So funny! They probably didn't get to sleep before midnight. Right before I left the room after taking this picture, Colton told me that he wanted to go as John Cena for Halloween. I may need some ideas from y'all because he can't go door to door wearing just a cap and a pair of pajama bottoms.
Today was mommy-daughter day. Katie loves M-D days. We went shopping for Father's Day, did a little baby shower, Christmas and birthday shopping as well. LOL!! I covered a lot of ground, especially when I don't have a sweet little voice constantly in my ear saying "mommy" about a millions times within one hour. Don't get me wrong. I love my son, but HE IS A TALKER! Katie and I were able to cover a lot of ground. I had so much fun with her and actually felt myself looking back at me when I was her age. Wow, I knew the 80s were back, but it is with vengeance. Katie loves looking through my jewelry box and came across my ankle bracelet with matching toe ring. I explained to her that before I had babies, I loved wearing this stuff during the summer. I gave her the ankle bracelet and toe ring, but the bands were so old that the toe ring broke right away. She was so sad. I told her, I would think that Claire's would have toe rings. Her little eyes lite up. It was the first place we hit this morning. It was like going back in time, the feather earrings, neon jewelry, heart shaped metallic sunglasses and fashion fingerless fishnet gloves. I loved shared that moment with my daughter. Katie used her money that she's been saving and purchased her toe rings. She brought to my attention, Mood rings. She's been wanting one since she saw the movie "Judy Moody, not a Bummer Summer." I did talk her into not getting the big bulky mood ring. Instead, it is a sweet multi-color heart shape. So sweet. I loved it, so I picked up the silver version. I asked her if it would be ok. I blame my inner childhood. The rest of the day, we checked out each other's mood. It was cool to see what our ring reported. Apparently, I'm a very calm person and Katie is excited or calm. I did become happy and excited at times. LOL!
Goodnight!

June Wedding Celebration 2014
Mr. & Mrs. Ryan K
This past weekend, my nephew married his best friend and love of his life. They've been dating for a couple of years and finally shared their vows in front of family and friends. It was a beautiful Catholic wedding. The bride was absolutely breathtaking and the groom was handsome as ever, but of course I'm a little partial to my family members. (tehe)
The happy couple with their grandparents
It was a good day for dad and mom being able to attend the wedding and reception. I think a celebration like a wedding is the best thing to prescribe for my parents. (haha) Anymore, it's hard to get them out of the house, but they had a good time at the reception.
My nephew's new family
It's hard to imagine Ryan as a dad, but he is great with these kids. I think he'll be a great positive influence in their lives. We wish he and his family many many years of happiness and joy.
Sisterly Love
Given Maryann a lot of love and support, since this is her last child to get married. She is officially an empty nester, no more kids coming home. I told her and her husband, now they get to look forward to having the grand babies coming and staying with them. They already have two grandchildren and now after Ryan's wedding, four.
Leslie at 7 months pregnant
Our next event is this sweetie and her 2 bundles of joy. We are so excited for them! We are slowly getting our baby shower together for her. We are having a brunch, sitting around the pool. We thought it would be more comfortable and relaxing. I just want to get my hands on these babies. Stay tuned for this special day.
