First Day Home

We were finally released from the our doctors around 11:30 yesterday morning. It took us a while to get ready because I would have to stop and feed Colton. I was so glad that Dr. Kakani gave her nurse the okay to take out my staples. I'm still really swollen, so I can't see my incision. Doug looked at it and said that it looks real good, no redness or irritation. My only real pain I'm having is a burning/aching sensation on my right side. Dr. Kakani said that will happen because of the tubal. She said it will just take some time for it get go away for good.

The big excitement that happened at the hospital was when our nurse, Sharon, forgot to turn in the security number off of Colton's security band into Hospital Security Department. She cut the band and the whole hospital shut down and this warning went off on the hospital intercom system. According to the nurse, when this alarm goes off, it shuts down the elevators, locks all exit doors and calls the security guards. Sure enough, it didn't take long before a security guard was standing in our doorway. Oops! Nurse Sharon felt really bad about the whole thing, but it gave us a sense of safety.

We got home around 2:30 yesterday evening. Colton and I took cat naps on the road home. Huntsville Hospital was so good to us and I had a great experience, while staying there. Saying that however, it was so nice to be home and in your own surroundings. We had a few visitors come by when we got home. Dad and mom didn't get to hold Colton the other day, when he was delivered. Mom had a big day and was so tired. I hated that they didn't get to really see him until yesterday. I gave him to mom and she didn't let go, which is fine with me. I got tickled at her because every once in a while, I'd ask her if she was okay holding him. "Oh yeah," she'd answer. As soon as Millard got off work, him and Peggy came by with Katie. She was so excited to see that we were finally home. She had to give Colton tons and tons of hugs and kisses. We've all had to go through this new adjustment and it's been a little hard on Katiebug. She just doesn't understand that she can't give Colton a bear hug, she can't touch all over his face and she can't hold him by herself. I feel so sorry for her. She's learning and we all have to grow a little more patience. Last night, Kevin, Maryann and Natalie came by to visit. Maryann and Natalie had to leave early Friday because Natalie had a basketball game at Murphreesboro, so this was the first time they got to hold Colton.

I think I over did it yesterday, so today was a good day to just lay around and enjoy my family. Colton has decided to be a snacker today. I'm really going to try to get him out of this habit. He wants to drink up to 15 minutes every hour or hour and half. I also tried to keep him up today, but it's been a little hard when I'm on pain medicine and going to sleep myself. Ha! I know it's going to take some time to get his days and nights straightened out. I was just really hoping I might be able to make the impossible, possible within 2 weeks. Why 2 weeks? Doug will be going back to work in a couple of weeks and I'm going to need that energy to keep up with Katie during the day. Oh well, it will work out.

Below are a few pictures of our Coming Home:

Check Out My Little Blonde Boy

Doug still can't get over Colton having blonde hair. I'm not surprised because it's on my side of my family. I've got some really good pictures to show you guys. My new favorite is of him dressed in one of his coming home outfits. The hospital photographer came by yesterday morning taking pictures and she suggested going ahead and putting his outfit on for pictures. Oh, I was so glad. It all happened so quickly that I went ahead and put on the blue gown instead of the white romper. I was afraid the white romper might be too little and I didn't have much time to try on both outfits. Plus, we wanted him to stay as happy as possible. Now, I see the gown is still a little big, we might bring him home in the white romper.

Check out all the blonde hair. He is such a sweetheart.

Katie Meets Colton

"Big Sister"

I'm still having a hard time grasping the fact that I just delivered nearly a 9 pound baby boy! Shoo! I knew he was heavy to carry around inside of me for a few days. Can you imagine how much he would have weighed if we went a full 40 weeks? Wow! I'm going to have to get Doug to take a picture of Colton's hair. Oh my gosh! It's blonde and a lot of it. I know in the first photo that you saw, it looked redish. Well, after they washed and dried it, it's as blonde as blonde can be.

Katie absolutely loves her baby brother. All she kept telling me is how pretty he was. She'd say, "oh mommy, he's so pretty." As she would watch other people hold Colton, it was killing her to hold him. Bless her heart, I felt so sorry for her. Hopefully, she'll get to hold him (with help) tomorrow. I asked her if she would want to take him home with us. "uh huh," she replied. Then, she asked if we were going home yesterday.

While I was in Triage, Katie got to see me before I went into surgery. She had to tell me all about the party going on downstairs. Most everyone was here, waiting in the big Lobby and Katie was eating it up. She loves all the attention. I wonder if she's going to like Colton getting some of her attention, when we all get home?

Colton and I are doing fine. We both got a clean bill of health. The nurses have been getting me up today. I think it will help a lot in working out the soreness because I've been feeling some pain. They went ahead and took me off the PCA (pain pump). I'm strictly on Perkaset (?) and Motrin. I've been trying to sit up most of the morning, in hopes it will help me not get so stiff.

Katie Trying On Flowergirl Dresses for Whitney's Wedding

In order to get Katie out and about for a little while, the girls took Katie by David's Bridal to try on a few dresses for the wedding.
Whitney & Leslie reported back how much fun Katie had trying on all of these beautiful dresses. The girls were laughing because Katie would put on a dress and begin dancing around.

Katie told Whitney when she saw one dress, "oh my momma would love this dress". She is such a priss. LOL!

More photos will be on our photosite.

Happy Birthday Liz!

I would like to wish my niece a very . . .
Happy Birthday Liz!
I hope you had a wonderful day

Tug At My Heart

A storm came rolling through here around 4:30 this morning. By 5:00 a.m., Katie came crawling into bed with me. She said the storm woke her up. Normally when she jumps into bed with us, she prefers to cuddle up to you. She also likes for me to put my arm around her as well. I guess it's more for comfort during the storm. I had hoped she would have gone back to sleep, instead I felt her little fingers touching all over my face. It was as if she was memorizing every crack and indention on my face. By the time the storm passed, she looked up at me and said, "mom, you can leave me go now". Uh, talk about tugging at your heart. Call it silly, but time just flashed before me. I could hear her saying those same words when she gets older and on her own. It didn't take long when I removed my arm from around her that she grabbed my hand and wanted to hold it the rest of the time. It was a very emotional and special moment for me.

We have less than 24 hours before we get to meet little Colton tomorrow. If you could see our Dining Room table, you would think that we were going on a weekend vacation (with all the overnight bags). LOL! I decided not to take the diaper bag, instead I've put all of Colton's things in the same small suitcase with my stuff. I've got a duffel bag packed for Doug. Katie, of course, has two bags packed. The one backpack is full of things that should keep her occupied at the hospital, in case she gets bored. Doug remembers seeing a DVD player in the rooms at the hospital, so I made the mistake of asking Katie what movies she would like to take with her to the hospital. Oh my gosh, she practically had to take all of her Barbie movies. After the 10th movie she gave me to pack up, she declared that was enough movies.

Millard and Peggy are picking her up tonight to stay the night with them. We didn't want to make her get up so early in the morning to head to the hospital. I think it would be better for her this way. I explained to her this morning about her spending the night with Grandma Peggy & Grandpa Millard and I would see her at the hospital. She got a little excited when I told her that she would be able to see baby Colton tomorrow at the hospital. The first question she asked, "are we going to bring baby Colton home tomorrow?" I told her, me and baby Colton would have to stay in the hospital for a few days, while she gets to spend the night with Grandma Peggy and Grandpa Millard. I added they would be bringing her to the hospital to visit us every day. She seems okay with it. She was real excited when I told her that we were going to have a party at the hospital tomorrow. I started naming off all the people that will be there and she liked that idea.

I've been experiencing some contractions all day yesterday and a few this morning. Man, they can wear a person out. On top of changing clothes because I feel like I just jumped into a lake. Shoo! Please keep us in your prayers. Thanks!

Thank You

First, I would like to thank all of the support I've been getting. I'm trying to stay positive and back to watching Fox News full time. It's the only thing that gets my mind off of my problems and onto something more ridiculous. Shoot! With my temper, maybe it will send me into labor. LOL!

Second, mom and dad brought over mom's BIG wedge for me to sleep on last night. It worked real well. It was a lot to get use to sleep on in bed, but the acid reflux wasn't as bad and I was able to fall right to sleep. Ahhh! Doug began laughing at me when he came to bed because he couldn't see how I could sleep on this wedge. I didn't care because I didn't feel like I was dying.

Katie and I spent most of the day outside. It was so beautiful and we just had to be apart of it. I wished I could have captured how our Yoshino Cherry tree blossoms were flying in the wind, like it was snowing, every time the wind blew. Katie even asked if it was snowing. She couldn't get over that it was flowers flying around. I put her hopscotch pads out on the driveway. I like to put those out so she won't scratch up her arms and legs when she plays with sidewalk chalk. She was having a good time with the sidewalk chalk and blowing bubbles. We had a bunch of old bubbles that we needed to get rid of. I think bubbles can get old because it seems like their quality after a while isn't very good. My azaleas are really blooming to pretty, but they were full of old brown dried up leaves from this past Winter months. It was buggy me too much, so I would just pick out the leaves from the bushes. Well, I ended up getting out the rake and raked out the flower bed all along the front of our house. Oh, it looks so much better now that it's all cleaned out. I was really hoping all this raking and cleaning would put me into labor, but no such luck. I ended up being tired and hurting. Oh well.

Today at ballet, I got to catch up with my new friends Beth & Rachel. They are such sweeties. They seemed to be as excited for me as I am. They both wished us the best and asked if they could do anything. So sweet. After practice, as we were leaving, Rachel came over and gave me a big hug.

Political News
You are probably expecting me to comment on the latest "Geithner wanted full control over all non-banking bailout companies." From what I understand, this type of control will allow him to go into the companies and be able to divide up the company and sell it, if he doesn't feel that it is an asset to the US Government. This may sound very simple, but that's the exact crack in the door that will give the government full access to go into any company and take over the business. Just another sign of Socialism.

Tea Party Update
Sandy was telling me about a site that's urging people to send tea bags to Pres. Obama, if they are unable to attend their local Tea Party. All you do is clip or tear off a tea bag label, place it into an envelope addressed to the White House on April 1st. She said Wade was so excited, he put 8 tea bags in his envelope along with a letter to Pres. Obama. I think I might do the same thing. Click here in order to read about the Cowboy Tea Party tea bags.

Red Envelope - Abortion Protest
Sandy was also telling me about this protest and I'm very interested in it. This website is encouraging everyone to mail a red envelope on March 31st to Pres. Obama. Below is an exact quote from the website:

Get a red envelope. You can buy them at Kinkos, or at partysupply stores.

On the front, address it to President Barack Obama The White House1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW Washington , D.C. 20500

On the back, write the following message."This envelope represents one child who died because of an abortion. It is empty because the life that was taken is now unableto be a part of our world. Responsibility begins with conception."We will mail the envelopes out March 31st, 2009.

Put it in the mail, and send it. Then forward this event to every one of your friends who you think would send one too. I wish we could send 50 million red envelopes, one for everychild who died [in the U.S. ] before having a chance tolive. It may seem that those who believe abortion is wrong are in a minority. It may seem like we have no voice and it'sshameful to even bring it up. Let us show our President andthe world that the voices of those of us who do not believeabortion is acceptable are not silent and must be heard.

Together we can change the heart of The President and save the lives of millions of children.....whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely...think on these things. Phil. 4:8

I Need Your Prayers

I really haven't done much this weekend, other than wait around and be miserable. Maryann came over Saturday. She needed a little help on the computer, so I was thankful for that. I needed to get my mind off of me. I went with Doug and Katie to pick up some groceries. I just needed to get out, but I couldn't last for very long. Ugh! What can I say? I'm just at that point where I'm begging God to please have mercy with me and let me go into labor. Isn't that sad?

Yesterday, Susan, Leslie & Jon came over to visit. It was so good to see them, but I don't think I was much company. I tried my best, but I could tell that I was struggling. Sorry guys! I'll do better when all of this is over. Last night, I was so miserable and in distress that all I wanted to do was cry. Doug tried his best to cheer my up. Yeah, I have less than 4 days left, but it feels more like 4 months. I think what makes it so bad for me is the severe acid reflux. Ugh! I have a recliner, I could sleep in. The bad thing about is it's very very old and needs to be re-stuffed. So, suffer from acid reflux or wake up with numb limbs and severe back and headaches. Hmmm! Hopefully by Saturday, I won't be such a whiner! Please remember me in your prayers.

Health Warning
You probably heard this information this past weekend, like I did. Do you remember eating the little Smarties candies as a child? I still like to munch on a tube of them with my little girl. Well, some kids have taking to smoking these candies. Apparently, they crush the candies inside the plastic sleeve and suck the candy dust into their mouth and be able to blow out a small cloud of smoke/dust. I'm sure these kids think this is cool, fun and harmless. Right? According to doctors, this is very harmful to children or any one. It's harmful because the candies are crushed into a crystal size dust and when inhaled these sharp candy crystals are sucked into the child's mouth and could do a lot of damage. Below is a quote from Fox News:

Doctors say that smoking Smarties can lead to coughing, infections or, in rare cases, maggots entering kids' noses to feed on the dust residue, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal. Eric Ostrow, vice president of sales and marketing for Smarties manufacturer Ce De Candy, Inc., put it more simply: "It's just dumb."

A Beautiful Spring Day

Beautiful Crabapple Tree in Full Bloom

Our beautiful Spring day didn't last as long as I wanted it to because of the cold front that came through yesterday afternoon. Peggy, Katie and I were outside stringing up Easter eggs onto a tree when the wind picked up. It wasn't long before that nice wind became really cold and got colder throughout the day. I believe it's suppose to cool down here for a couple of days and slowly warming right back up.

Peggy & Katie placing Easter decals on window

As you know, we went to Peggy and Millard's yesterday for the day. We had a really nice visit and I think Katie had a good time decorating. The only down fall for a person that has a short attention span, they can't stand to wait around for very long. Peggy and I had to string up the eggs before Katie could put them up on the tree. Obviously, we were taking too much time getting the eggs ready for Katie and she was getting bored waiting after a while. She announced she wanted to go swing, but didn't like the idea that no one would be pushing her in the swing. She'd sigh and go sit in her jeep. Peggy tried to get her to ride around in her jeep, but that idea didn't sound like a lot of fun. So, she declared that it was time for us to go in the house. I knew what she wanted and I had to become a mean mom. She insisted on bringing her new "Thumbelina" movie and she probably wanted to turn it on. I told her no that it was a beautiful day and she needed some fresh air.

As soon as we finished with decorating for Easter, Katie got excited again because she got to put on her Easter dress. I think I took a couple of good pictures of her, but pointed out to Peggy exactly why I send her to Portrait Innovations to have her portrait taken. She's too busy making funny faces, not sitting lady like or break out into a ballet dance. Ugh! On top of that, during me taking photos, I noticed that I had Millard's satellite in the background. I don't know why I didn't notice it. I could have kicked myself. So, I had to reposition myself in order to cut out the satellite. By this time, Katie was aggravating me with pulling up her dress, making silly faces again, etc. Blah!

Katie beginning to act goofy

This is why we go to professional to have pictures made

Later when Millard got home, they headed out to fly kites. The wind was really blowing by that time, so the kite got up in the sky pretty good. Well, it didn't last long because Millard gave the string to Katie and told her not to let go. Next thing you know, the kite went over the house from the back yard and landed in a tree in the front yard. Katie was all excited telling me and Peggy what happened. When they found the kite in a tree, Katie couldn't tell me fast enough saying "mom, the kite's stuck in the tree". Millard was able to pull the kite out of the tree. The only loss was one of the two tails on the kite and handle that holds the string.

While Peggy and I were getting supper on the table, Millard and Katie played the piano and began singing songs to us. It was a sight! I told Peggy, as we were giggling, this is when I needed a video camera with me. I was surprised how Katie was pounding on the ivories and singing "Jesus Loves Me". What was so sweet and I tried to capture a shot was how she would look up at Millard and he would look down at her.

Hallmark Postcard Virus
A friend of mine sent me an email warning me of this virus. You know me, I had to check it out with Snopes and this is what I found out. This notice is both a true warning and a hoax. I'm sure you've received Hallmark email postcards just like me. Apparently, some idiots have found a way to attach virus' to these postcards and send them out to innocense people. As soon as someone opens the attachment the worm virus gets into your hard drive and wipes it clean. Click here in order to read the warning from Snopes. I guess the bottomline is to be careful.

On A Side Note
I want to thank my good friend Laura for the comment yesterday. Ha Ha! What can I say? I've always been considered a passionate person especially when it relates to something I believe in. I've noticed the older I get, I just can't keep my mouth shut. I have to voice my opinion. I hope I don't come across to my audience as being on the edge or a hate-munger because I'm not. After all that's been going on these past few years, I do believe in the system. There are some good people working for us in the government. I'm wanting them to sound off because right now, I'm not hearing them voice their opinion too much. Also, they are saying what they'll do, but not necessarily doing what they say. Am I angry with the current administration? Maybe just a little when it comes to something not being handled correctly. Am I aggravated and frustrated with the system? Absolutely. Pres. Obama says not to play the blame game and how we need to just work together. My question is how can you solve the issue without finding the source of the problem and eliminating it? For instance, Sen. Chris Dodd was one of I don't know how many other members who created the loophole for AIG's bonuses. Were you aware he received donations from AIG during his campaign in order to get him elected (where he's at right now)? It sounds like the typical "you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours". That is until he got caught and then he threw the blame off to the Treasury Secretary. Now, the AIG employees are pretty much forced to give back their bonuses either by volunteer or being taxed at 90%. I blame all who signed this stimulus bill through and they should have to eat it. No one wants to be responsible for this mess. Let's tax each individual Senators, House of Representatives, President and Speaker of House 90% to replace the monies that went towards all of these companies giving out bonuses right after receiving bailout money. Now that would be the correct way to handle this situation. You can't tell me that if you made a mistake at your workplace, causing your company to loose money, you would get away with it scott free. No, you would have to pay the money back and possibly be fired from your position. So, what's the difference here?

America's Re-Tea Party

Thanks Wade for reminding me about these events going on around the country. There is just so much to write about, plus running role of mom & maid around here, I've forgotten to look into this and report it.

If you don't know what I'm talking about is that American's are rallying around the country at different dates and times in order to Re-declare Our Independence. From what I understand, Newt Gingrich has joined this cause. Below is a small piece from the site I found:

In 1994, Newt Gingrich, along with several other prominent Republicans introduced their “Contract with America” after taking a majority control of Congress for the first time in 40 years. The Contract called for a renewed faith in Washington D.C., namely in the Republican Party, asking for Americans across the country to put their faith in partisan politicians.

Several big cities in Alabama will be having their Tea Parties on April 15th at different times. What's great about this website is you can select which state you're wanting to attend this PEACEFUL Tea Party. Click here in order to read more and find out where and when these tea parties are happening. Remember to just click on the state you want from the US map.

Natasha Richardson
How tragic to hear this news. After listening to the news updates yesterday, this accident sounded so simple that it could have happened to even me. The people that were with Natasha when it happened simply said that she just bumped her head. She was up and laughing at herself for being so clumsy. They reported later that day, she complained of a little headache and that's when they decided to take her to the hospital to be checked out. Some doctors (not related in her case) said she could of had some brain swelling or bleeding on the brain, which resulted in this tragic event. As you may know, she's been on life support. Her family made that terrible and tough decision to take the support off of her last night. Ahh, so sad! I feel for her family and they will be in my prayers.

Spring Pictures
Peggy has invited Katie and myself out to her house today. She wants Katie to help her decorate for Easter. I think Katie would have a blast doing so. I also thought it would be a great opportunity to take a few Spring/Easter photos of Katie in her new Easter dress. When I asked Katie last night about having her picture made today, she was so excited. She wanted to know if she had her Easter dress yet and if the Easter bunny would be there to have her picture taken with him. Ha Ha! I told her that it wasn't quite that close to Easter time, but it was coming very soon. I hope I'll be able to get a few good shots because there are days, like the other day, where all she wants to do is look off or dance every where. Is she one of the true flower children? Off in la-la land half the time.
By the way, today is the first official day of Spring. So . . .
Happy Spring!

What Is Nancy Pelosi Smoking?

So, what in the world is going on with Nancy Pelosi? First, she is pushing all of these ridiculous agendas of hers. Second, she abuses the use of the G8 (my opinion). Now, she is voicing her opinion that illegal immigrate raids are un-American. She commends illegal immigrates working in the US and on top of that she promises the illegals they will continue to work in the US. What?

Personally, I feel Nancy is a ticking time bomb and should step down as the Speaker of the House as soon as possible. Trust me, I let my congressmen know today that I didn't appreciate seeing her face and hearing her saying these things on National television. If you want to get in touch with your congressmen and don't know how to contact them, I have a website click here. You'll see that I've got Alabama's Senator screen up, but you can choose a different state.

I feel Nancy would be wise to sit back and take it easy for a while. My word, doesn't she feel that Congress is getting beat up enough because their popularity rates are not at the highest right now. Senators are getting an ear full from their constituents because of the mess they have created by voting for these stimulus packages.

Mom and Dad Visit
Mom called me this morning to see if we would be home today. Of course, I've been taking it easy, so I assured her that we would be here. She said that dad wanted to go to the gym and work out and she didn't want to stay at home by herself. I told her to come on over any time and we would visit, while dad went to the gym. We had such a good visit. They wanted to give the baby something special and she knew we had received all of the necessary things for him. I knew they went out to the Grotto not too long ago and I'm glad they did because they gave Colton a beautiful wooden cross to hang up in his room. It's so pretty and can't wait to hang it up. You may not be aware, but mom continues to improve. She is able to wash dishes and clothes now on her own. It takes her a while to wash the dishes because she can't stand for a very long time, but she can do it. I'm so proud of her!

Costumes Are Finally In

Today was Katie's regular ballet class. As you know, Katie has a ballet recital May 28th & 29th. The ballet performance is called "Giselle". Us mothers have been told for the past month that we should be receiving the girls' costumes soon. Well, they finally came in today and they are so precious. I have to say, I was a little surprised that Katie actually liked hers because it is mint green and not pink. Her instructor, Anna, had all the little girls try on their costumes before class was over. When it was time to leave, I had a terrible time getting Katie let me take off the costume. As soon as we got home, she asked if she could put on her tutu again. I was feeling pretty good, so I thought it would be a good Kodak moment. I think I got a couple of good pictures because I couldn't get Katie to be still long enough outside to take a decent photo. She goes outside and either plays with her tutu or begins dancing. I tried my best to get her to pose and be still.

Natasha Richardson on life support after a terrible ski training accident at a resort. I heard reports this afternoon that all life support will be taken off of her some time today or tomorrow. I think that is so sad. I really liked her acting. You probably remember her on the movie "Parent Trap" with Dennis Quaid and Lindsey Lohan. I learned something today. I didn't know Natasha was married to Liam Neesen and was the sister to actress Joely Richardson. I loved Joely Richardson on "Return To Me".

Happy St. Patty's Day!

I've always been told that I had Irish blood in me from the "Powers" family, but when you dig the family origin, you get conflicting information. So, I guess it depends on who you talk to if the "Powers" family are from Ireland or England. For today, I would like to wish all of my "Powers" family members a very . . .

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Eat lots of corn beef and cabbage for good luck of the year. I love boiled cabbage, but sometimes I have to choke down the corn beef.

Katie Story
Katie is excited about getting a baby in the house. We will see how excited she'll be when she finds out that he's not leaving. For the past few days, she'll ask me if baby Colton is coming today. Her little face falls when I tell her probably not, then she'll say "maybe he'll come tomorrow". She's also put it upon herself to be the Quality Control when it comes to Colton's new toys and baby blankets. She has to "just looking at them" play and tote them around the house for awhile to make sure if they are acceptable. By the end of the day, she'll tell me "I better put baby Colton's toys up" and she'll put them right back where she found them. She fell in love with his tiny blue rattle puppy and told me that she would like one. Well, I knew she had a brown one that's a little bigger in her room some where. When I told her, she was bound and determined to find this brown puppy dog, especially when I told her it barks. Finally, we found the dog and now she totes him around and sleeps with him at night.

At times, she'll come up to me and rub my belly. She continues to ask me if the baby is feeling alright, which I think is so sweet. She's already being that big sister. She'll lay her head on my belly and talk to him every once in a while. I've got her "Big Sister" t-shirt washed and ready for her to wear at the hospital when he is born.

The other day when we were in the car driving Millard and Peggy by the hospital, Katie began laughing and just acting silly. I don't remember who said it, but they told Katie not to laugh so loud because she was waking up the baby. Now, she'll laugh real loud and act silly, then she'll stop and ask me if she woke up baby Colton. It's cute listening to Katie when she says Colton's name. She calls him "baby Colton" and she pronounces it so precise.

I thought maybe Sandy might like to see a picture of the quilt, she made, as a replacement in Katie's room. It works out perfectly because she has a lot of lavendar in her room now with her new bed set. Katie loves to show all of our visitors her room. She is so proud of it!

Glenn Beck
Okay, I've probably gone a little GB crazy. I'm a big fan and have tried to encourage him on his mission from Facebook. I was talking to Sandy yesterday about him because she likes him as well. I was telling her about a couple of books that Glenn recommends all Patriots to read. I could remember the one book, but not so much the other one. I checked out his website and got the name of the books again. Here they are:

I would be very interested in checking these books out, hopefully from the Library. If they are not available in libraries, they don't seem to be too expensive on Glenn's website. If you're interested in purchasing these books and more, you can find them here.

It's amazing how we've put all of this stuff in our new building all in one day and it's taken me three days to go out and pull some of the stuff right back into this house. Ha! I guess everything was so fast, being packed up and shipped out that I didn't realize until later, I would need some of the things that I just packed away. Oh well, isn't that how it goes.

After we went to Babies R Us yesterday and got a couple of the last items, I need before baby boy gets here, I feel so much more relaxed and at ease. These past few days, I've been washing up baby clothes, sanitizing bottles & pacifiers. I've also started packing a little bag. You know, just in case. I plan on taking it easy the next few days and wait around.

Maryann came over Saturday and helped me clean the rest of the house, where I can't reach like ceiling fans. It was great to have her come by and help out like that, plus we got a chance to do a little sister bonding. Later that night, Kevin came over and we grilled out some hamburgers. Maryann was telling me how she would like to take a few computer lessons now that she has Fridays available. I offered to show her some things with the computer, but it is up to her. So, next Friday she is suppose to come by and let me show her how to make labels for Whitney's shower/wedding invitations. I know she's had a couple of questions with Windows Excel that maybe I can help her with as well. I actually appreciate someone using me because it will keep my mind sharp on my computer skills. I told Doug, I'm afraid that one day I'll forget all that I know.

Sandy called me this morning and made a great suggestion. She would like for me to start a poll as to the baby's weight and length, when he arrives. I think that would be a great idea, on top of his delivery date. Actually, I don't know an easy way to start this poll. I've gotten a few predictions on the due date and one on the weight and length. If I begin a poll going by every one's predictions then there will be one vote for each. Hmm! I'll have to think about this one a little more. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks!

Glenn Beck
I'm loving Glenn Beck's new show on Fox Network at 4:00 CST. There are a lot of times when I feel so bad for him because he gets so emotional. He seems to really love God, Family and Country. I know when I listen to the news and hear all of these new bills and policies that Obama wants passed, it scares me to death. Often times, I wonder what country I'm living in and if there are others (citizens) out there feeling the same way I am. I know God will take care of me and my family, but I just hate to see the country that I love so much be swallowed up by satan. Last Friday, Glenn told his audience about how he received an email from a viewer. The concerned viewer asked Glenn if he was the only one that felt the same way, he did about our country. Glenn held a "town meeting" setting for all conservatives that are all concerned about all that's been going on with this new administration. He has a new website called "The 912 Project" for people to check out. I haven't had the chance to really view it, but didn't want to delay getting this information out to you. Click Here in order to view "The 912 Project" website.

I hope all of you will have a wonderful St. Patrick's Day tomorrow! Hopefully, the next time I blog I'll have something else to talk about other than babies. Ha! Sorry about that, but it seems to be the only thing on my mind right now.
