"We've Been Booed!"

TomKat Studio had a great idea on how to share the spirit of Halloween with others.  I'm having a hard time figuring out who to "Boo" first.  HAHA!

I wanted to share this "Boo" flyer with you.  If you end up Booing someone, it would be fun to take pictures and post it on your blog this Fall.  Have a spooktacular time doing it!

Printable Halloween BOO FLYER - The Tomkat Studio

Katie and I have a long list of Halloween decorations to make this year. I guess we need to get busy because it won't be long before Halloween will be here. Katie wants me to be sure and make spiders out of styrofoam balls and ghosts flying high in the sky. Actually, I was surprised she suggested such things. My favorite are scarecrows and cute pumpkins.

I would like to make these cute "Spirit Jugs" to welcome our guests up the walkway.
Materials
Clean plastic gallon milk jugs
Black permanent marker
Craft knife
String of 50 clear low-wattage holiday lights

Instructions
  1. Draw ghost eyes and mouths on the jugs. Tip: Leave the caps on while you do this, so the jugs don't dent.
  2. Use the craft knife to cut a half-dollar-size hole in the back of each jug (a parent's job).
  3. Arrange the ghosts near each other and string the lights between them, stuffing several bulbs into each of the jugs

I would like to make Handprint Bats for the kids.  I saw these a couple of years ago and have wanted to make Katie one.  I think they are cute and I've seen them done in several different ways.  I would like to do these in foam instead of construction paper. I think they will be precious! Here are the instructions DLTK offers.
Materials:
paper (for handprints) - brown or black construction paper work well
pencil or marker
scissors
glue
printer and paper
something to color with

Instructions:
  1. Print out the template of choice.
  2. Color the template pieces (if using the B&W version)
  3. Cut out the template pieces (young children may need help with this step)
  4. Trace the child's hands on another piece of paper and cut out (two handprints) -- black or brown construction paper works well (or you can color a piece of white paper)
  5. Glue the bat together: Glue the head to the oval body; Glue the face onto the head; Glue the legs onto the bottom of the body; Glue the handprint wings on the back of the body; Glue the flower by an ear, on a wing or beside the neck; OPTIONAL: Print a Handprint Poem on the back

i really thought those milk jugs were too cute. Plus i like the "we've been booed" That's a nice way of getting into the holiday spirit. I may do it to all of the neighbors since we are going to be just getting settled and wanting to meet a few of them. ;-) thanks for the idea!!

I saw the milk jug idea in the magazine you brought and I thought about making those, too. I know the clear lights are out at Hobby Lobby right now on the Christmas aisle! Lovin' your ideas!

P.S. Alise took her "ghost" to school on Tuesday. She's in the bed now, but I need to ask her how "Show & Tell" went!
