Need Advice on Ice Cream Cup Cakes

Need Some Advice
Okay, I need tips from you Mom's that have made these Ice Cream Cup Cakes. The box of Joy brand name Ice Cream Cups recommended, I store the cakes in a specially designed container. The container lifts the cups off of it's base/stem. The only way I could store the cakes were in a tall Tupperware cake dome and large cookie tin. I waited until I knew the cakes were cold before I put the lids on the containers. This morning, I was getting some ready to take to the Nursing Home. I noticed some of the cups were really soft and with them standing free, looks like it put strain on the base/stem of the cup. I can't make these if this happens every time. Unless I hear a cure, I'm going to have to resort to making cupcakes instead. Please let me know.

Update On Mom
Katie and I got to visit Mom this afternoon. We tried to get there before lunch, but it just wasn't happening. Katie's not much into eating breakfast and I had a terrible time getting her to eat before we left. We left the house around 11:30 and Katie decided that she wanted a hamburger and fries. Ugh! Yes, I did say a hamburger. She's discovered that hamburgers are really good. We ended up getting to the Nursing Home a little late for lunch. In fact, Mom was out and about in her new electric wheelchair. The staff feel that if Mom could get an electric wheelchair, she might be able to wheel around on her own throughout the home and not be stuck in bed. Mom feels a little down because of it, but I told her that this is to help her get around a little easier and not a device to prevent her from trying to walk. She said that she's spoke to a few other women and they've helped her deal with it. I told her how pleased I was to see her rolling up and down the hallway because I'm afraid she is getting depressed. She says she's not, but I really feel that she might be. She said that she's visiting her friend, Opaline, this morning and plans to start attending her bible study group. She's going to find out what time the study group meets and make sure she doesn't have therapy at that time. We stayed a little over an hour and I could see she was beginning to get tired on us.

Tequila and Salt
This should probably be taped to your bathroom mirror where one could read it every day. You may not realize it, but it's 100% true.
1. There are at least two people in this world that you would die for.
2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.
3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.
4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like you.
5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.
6. You mean the world to someone.
7. You are special and unique.
8. Someone that you don't even know exists loves you.
9. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it.
10 When you think the world has turned its back on you take another look.
11 Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the rude remarks.

I received the above from Laura and wanted to share it with you because it is so true.

Did you put them in the refrigerator? You said "cold," so I'm not sure. Depending on how many people you were expecting for the party, and if you really had your heart set on these, I would just make them early in the morning on the day of the party. I ran into a baking/cooking site that had a Q&A section and people could post their problems and get answers from anybody. That's all I know to do right now. Hmm...

No. I didn't put them in the fridge. I meant that I left them out on the counter to cool. A lot of times, if you ice or cover a cake or any baked good, moist sets up and causes it to sweat or get wet. I said that so some one won't think I covered them too early.

I really didn't want to make the cakes the day of the party. I may have to go to Pillsbury's website and either find the answer or submit a question.

I just asked mom what she thought....can you just not cover them at all? I would assume that if they are iced they won't go icky.
